Below is a set of photographs recorded during the cherry blossom season in Copenhagen in 2015.
It is noteworthy that all photos are recorded at one of the main cemeteries in Copenhagen, Bispebjerg Cemetery at an avenue of cherry trees about 150 m long. Not often one gets to see so many enthusiastic and happy faces at a cemetery! Or, a coffee van for that matter… Personally I find it quite astonishing how strongly, how positively and how immediately blossoming cherry trees affect human consciousness… Consequently it was more the interaction between cherry trees and humans than the trees themselves that caught my attention.

Short videos (of very basic technical quality) showing walks along the avenue is available here and here. For a cemetery with a rather different atmosphere, check out photos from Saint Louis Cemetery No. 1 in New Orleans here.
