When I first visited a few traditional Chinese Gardens in China in 2008, I was immediately struck by the sublime architecture as well as the way these gardens represent mini-worlds where one meets a stunning variety of beautiful carefully composed scenes and view points, as one moves through them. Nourishment for the soul, no doubt!
Below are photos from gardens in China (Master of the Nets, Retreat and Reflection, Tongli Lake View Hotel), Montreal (2009) and Zürich (2012). Please notice that there are separate pages with photos from China in general, and the Terracotta Army in Xi’an.
